DAMARISCOTTA GETS THE BLUES!!

On sat. aug.2nd, 2008 the Maine Blues Society will be showcasing it's 2009 Road To Memphis, international Blues competetion winners from our great state of Maine. The Schooner Landing restaurant and night club hovers over the beautiful Damariscotta River in Damariscotta, Maine and is hosting this fun event as part of their summer concert series. This is a fund raising event to help our awesome Maine winners with expenses, as they represent Maine at the 2009 IBC in Memphis. The venue will begin at 9 p.m. with our solo/duo winners Stevie "Guitar'' Bailey and John ''the sax, fiddle and mandolin man." These two seasoned blues dogs will amp you up and get that toe tapping . You''ll be warmed up when Matt and The Barnburners start to ignite the 2nd set. The Barnburners will demonstrate why they are 2008 and 2009 winners in the band catagory with over octaned front man Matt Bilodeau on harmonica . This is high energy Chicago style blues in your face up close and personal. We're gonna give ya a 10 to 15 minute break to let you figure out that your not really in Memphis and wipe the sweat from your brow. Pam Baker  ''the Queen of the Maine Blues scene'' w/Steve Bailey and the S.G.'s will come on to provide the baddest case of ''restless leg syndrome'' that you can have while smiling. Pam Baker has been the down home staple Blues act in Maine for well over 20 years w/openings for many national acts and festivals thru-out New England. Wear dancing shoes and be hydrated for this Schooner Landing Blues Bash. The Schooner Landing is a full service waterfront restaurant with a marina over looking the Damariscotta River adjacent to the Damariscotta-Newcastle bridge. They offer all types seafood, steaks, lobster, and the usally pub fare w/Maine micro brews on tap. The Schooner landing is on the large side, by Maine standards, with indoor and outdoor capacity of about 250 or so. Accomodations are plentiful in the area. Go to Duckpuddlecampground.com for both lodging and/or lakefront camping only 10 minutes from Schooner Landing. Damariscotta Chamber of Commerce.com will be able to provide many lodging resorces. Tickets will be $10.00 per person at the door w/general admission. Come in early and bust open a steamed lobster and stake out your spot! Let's keep the Maine Blues Alive!
